Hi, I’m Kelly.

Owner of Purple Door Quilting Company, your partner in finishing your beautiful quilt.
My quilting journey began in 2010 when a friend sent out an email asking if anyone would like to go along on a Shop Hop the following weekend. I was not a quilter and had no idea what a Shop Hop was, but it sounded fun, so I went. At the end of the weekend, I had 33 little packages that contained fabric and instructions on completing a block.
The first pattern I opened said "Make 4 Flying Geese units" WHAT?? Thanks to Google, YouTube and my mom, that quilt was finished after 18 months of learning, and I was hooked!
A few years later after learning by trial and error, google and YouTube, I joined the local Quilt Guild, Rainshadow Quilting Arts Guild in Friday Harbor, WA. This talented group of women have always shared their knowledge with others and helped me grow as a quilter. I have spent time making quilts, bags, doing embroidery and other useful projects. All of this leading me to my passion for longarm quilting!
